WHAT IS HANDY-ALARM?

Your existing alerting system.
Another way to reach your team.

Handy-Alarm lets your organisation use existing smartphones and other notification channels. The platform receives alerts, assigns them to the appropriate context and shares the relevant information with the intended members.

It starts with your equipment: an incident fax, an email or a five-tone/POCSAG connection, for example. These inputs become incident information for the appropriate responders. Your organisation decides who should receive which information for each event.

Members view the information, open directions when needed and send a response. Administrators manage recipients and groups. Alerting, preparation and responses become parts of the same workflow.

HOW IT WORKS IN EVERYDAY USE

The right information.
For the right task.

A technical assistance callout may require different recipients and information from a larger incident. Configure distribution around your organisation’s responsibilities.

01

The alert is received.

The incoming alert and its details are processed and assigned to the organisation or the intended response resources.

02

The right responders are informed.

Members and groups receive the information intended for them through their configured channels. Recipients and content are configurable.

03

The team can prepare.

Incident type, location and further details are available. Directions and individual responses contribute to the shared overview.

NOTIFICATIONS THAT FIT YOUR MEMBERS

Different channels.
One shared picture.

Devices and connectivity vary. Match channels, recipients and content to your members and your organisation.

App & push

The free app for iOS and Android brings incident information and responses to the smartphone.

SMS

SMS complements the app according to the configured notification channels and the device in use.

Email

Incident information can also be sent to the intended recipients by email.

Voice call

A call can be configured individually as another notification channel.

You decide which member receives which information for each event. Any variable SMS and call charges are discussed in advance.

FOR YOUR MEMBERS

Set off with the information
you need.

The app brings together the incident details intended for each member. Incident type, location and further information appear together, rather than arriving only as an isolated notification.

Incident information at hand

View the relevant information on a smartphone or tablet. Other channels complement access depending on the device.

Open the incident location

Open directions from the incident information in Google Maps or Apple Maps. Navigation takes place in the selected maps app.

Send an availability response

Indicate whether you can attend the incident. Your response contributes to the organisation’s shared overview.

Configure targeted distribution

Configure recipients and the information they receive by event and responsibility. Specialist teams and larger groups can be addressed differently.

Manage several organisations

Central administration can bring several organisations together, for example for a municipality or district. Responsibilities and correct assignment remain important.

YOUR EXISTING EQUIPMENT IS THE STARTING POINT

A suitable connection
to your alerting channels.

We establish how your alerts arrive and how their information should be processed and assigned.

Incident fax & email

Send incident faxes by fax or email. Take alert data from the existing format.

Five-tone & POCSAG

Connect existing decoding systems, for example through FMS32 or BosMon.

Call, SMS & link

Use an agreed input through a call, SMS, email or a link that is opened.

API & tailored connections

Review an existing interface or other requirements together and agree the connection.

PROCESS AS STRUCTURED INFORMATION

Event & incident type
Location & incident details
Organisation & recipients

Account for changing field layouts and content during setup.

Understand alerts even when the format changes.

Field layouts and the content of faxes and other alerts can vary. Processing accounts for these differences and separates extraction of the information from assignment to the incident.

Repeated inputs and a new alert are different cases.

An alert can arrive through several channels. Its assignment also needs to account for new events and additional callouts. These workflows are checked during setup and trial runs.

OPTIONAL INCIDENT DISPLAY

One shared screen.
For an overview at your station.

The incident display adds a shared screen to the personal information on mobile phones. Incident details can also be visible at your organisation’s premises.

  • Incident information on a shared screen
  • A complement to the app and personal notification channels
  • Agree setup and intended use together

The display is an optional extension. We discuss requirements and costs to fit your organisation.

Ask a question
Which organisations is Handy-Alarm designed for?+

For fire services, THW, Wasserwacht, water rescue services including DLRG, and emergency medical services. We discuss how your existing alerting system and responsibilities fit the product.

Do we need to change our existing alerting system?+

Handy-Alarm connects to existing alert sources and decoding systems. The right connection depends on your equipment. It is a supplementary information and alerting channel and does not automatically replace mandatory alerting infrastructure.

Can each member have their own notification channels?+

The intended channels can be configured individually. The product offers app push, SMS, email and voice calls as options. Recipients, content, devices and any variable charges are considered during setup.

Yes. Members and groups can be organised by responsibility. Your organisation decides who should receive which information for each event. Group messages support communication with your members.

Can several organisations be managed centrally?+

Administration supports several organisations, for example within a municipality or district. Information assignment and the respective responsibilities are taken into account.

Is the incident display included in the monthly base price?+

The incident display is available separately. It adds a shared screen to the personal information on mobile phones. Requirements and costs are discussed individually.
